Lover's Leap

One of my favorite things to do in the fall is to ride up the mountain and see the leaves. This year was dominated by golds. Sadly the reds and vibrant oranges were more subtle, almost nonexistent. But the golds were many, deep and strong. There are places when the sun hits just right, that is glows, and you can feel the presence of God. We took a day and visited the beautiful over look at Lover's Leap, went to the candy store, took my mother in law to eat at Tuggle's Gap, and enjoyed the company of our youngest daughter and oldest grandson. It was a splendid day.

We live in a beautiful place. We don't have to travel to see the wonderous creations of our Master and Creator. We only need to slow down long enough to enjoy what He has surrounded us with. We couldn't be more blessed. He is so good to us. I am ever so Thankful to Him for every single blessing.

Weight Loss and Catch Up

Oh my. I've had so much going on. It's our busy season at The Poor Farmer's Farm and I've been working my bum off. :) (No complaints here.)

I've been on my blog twice trying to update my template but I'm having trouble due to windows 8. So for now my season won't change. I'll get to that when I slow down a little.

Heaven is 38 weeks this week. We are all patiently awaiting the arrival of Henley James.

I've got a new job. I put in my two week notice today. I'll share where once I've transitioned.

Crazy news. You all know how I've battled weight loss all of my blogging life. Ha! (and before.) Well this past time I set my mind to eat low carb and just water. No sugar, no breads, etc.... I hit the 20 lb loss mark so quickly I was amazed  I just finished week 3 of low carb eating. 22 days. I started couch to 5K yesterday and hit the gym with my sister today for circuit training. What amazes me is that I have lost 22 lbs in 22 days. How in this world can that happen? I feel like I'm on a season of the Biggest Loser. I'm hard at it, but have never had these kind of results before. I know my weight loss cannot continue to be this huge this fast but I am thankful to see such progress so FAST!

After today's weigh in I will not be weighing again until November. So we will see where things go from here. As for other news I'm on my way to work and just don't have the time currently. I have a lot of updating to do and family news to share.

Catch up again soon!

Me and Little Man

I love this picture of us. It was Friday night at the fair and my husband Tony and his group, Almost There, were playing. We had gone to listen to them but Treyton was tired of waiting and wanted to go and ride at the fair. So his Mimi snuck him out and we went and rode some rides! He was happier after the picture was taken! Being a grandmother beats anything else in the world.

My Heaven is due October 31st. She is 5 weeks now. I'm excited to see how far she is going to go. Her friend Mandy gave birth at 37 weeks yesterday.

Oh Happy Day!

Oh and later that fair day, much later after this picture was taken, Treyton and I had our faces painted. Check this out!
We had so much fun!

Me and my Sissy. Praising God for mending fences.
Treyton had so much fun!
We always ride the carousel.
I want my MiMi!
Riding all alone, well, except for the worm.
My handsome grandson.
We had a wonderful time. The only thing missing are pictures of my Meadow. Hope to get some more on Friday. :)

Lunch Date

We had lunch at the Chateau Morrisette and it was so beautiful that day. The food delicious. Spent time with my daughter Savannah, my grandson Treyton, my mother in law Mildred, and my sister in law Tammy.

My boy fell asleep on the way there and was waking up as I was carrying him in. Such a sweet little gentleman he is.

Adventures with Treyton

We started our morning out with McDonald's! And then followed that with Chuck E Cheese! We had the best day! Heaven is 28 weeks and had to go to her midwife. She had to do the sugar test among other things. So, Treyton and I took advantage of some free time. After we picked Heaven up from her appointment we went on into Roanoke to enjoy the rest of our day. We had a blast.

Pappy, Treyton and the Motorcycle

This kid loves to ride. Poor ole Pappy had been working since 3:30 am this morning. He was tired and wore out. He had already made it in the house, ate, took his shoes and socks off, and sat down to relax for the evening. Then Treyton says, "Pappy, we motorcycle men, let's ride the motorcycle!" How could a tired Pappy say no? Mimi came out with her cell phone to take pictures. The laughter you can't hear in the photos brought sheer joy to my heart. Seeing the look of the awesome rush he felt flying up the road and listening to the roar of the bike made him feel like he was on a rollercoaster I'm sure. His face glowed! Moments like this are priceless. If you look real close on this last picture you can see my Meadow ducking behind her daddy hiding from the camera. At 12 she didn't have her hair fixed or her make-up on and did not want her picture on Facebook or Blogger. God is good.

Lazy Monday

After working all weekend I'm thankful for a lazy Monday. Treyton and I are watching the Little Mermaid this morning.  I feel nap time coming on soon.

I've gotten both of my doggies switched over to eating raw. Suki, who is 9 weeks, has loved eating raw from the first meal. Roxy on the other hand held out for 2 whole days with nothing to eat before she began to eat raw. Now she eats it like a pro. I've been studying this for a couple of weeks and I'm hoping to see many of the benefits that I've heard of. Especially with skin, fur, and teeth issues. For the first two weeks we are doing chicken only. After that I can add in a different meat each week.

After I got off work yesterday I stopped by a friends cabin. She lives on the mountain and we had such a great visit. We talked non stop for 4 hours! We've been making it a point to get together at least every other week. She has such a sweet spirit and I'm thankful for the opportunity to spend time with her.

Ah well, I started this morning off with thankfulness for my husband so I will end this post with this today.

A Beautiful Wednesday

I am babysitting my grandson Treyton this week. We've had so much fun. He's such a mess and isn't it crazy how they always say the sweetest things? He's growing up a storm. So fast I could cry. He's getting to that point that he tells me he is a big boy now. 3. A big boy. I have to smile. Little boys are so precious. I have another one coming in October. How I miss that newborn smell and sweet kisses. My Heaven is still working and still so sick. I feel so bad for her. Her belly has finally popped out. Up until this point she hasn't even really been showing. She's so little. They can't decide on a name. Of course, I am desperately trying to assist them! Ha!

Well, we are heading outside. The sun is shining brightly and the day awaits us. I praise the Lord for every blessing. Especially this beautiful day.

Update, we got the yard mowed! lol

Progress!

April is Almost Gone

I've gotten lost in the month. The beautiful weather, sunshine, smell, rain, coolness, warmth, sunning, bonfires, friends, family, children, dinners, appointments.... ah life.

How I've enjoyed the past few weeks. It's so pleasant being able to spend each day however I wanted. I've been reading books, so many books and watching movies-not as many movies but I can say that Les Miserables is next on my list of movies to watch late at night all alone. I can't wait.

I'm teetering between beginning school in June or beginning school in September. I do believe I'll end up going with June. It'll be a much quicker graduation date. I've sat back and thought through so many things and I know that I have to do this. It's in me to be a nurse. The desire is so strong.

Tony and I are doing amazing. This year, very soon, will be our 20th year Anniversary. I believe that this year has been one of our very best. The happiness we feel is thick, you can smell it, feel it, lay in it like a soft cloud. It's fun. We have been just relishing one another. I love it when things are like this. After 20 years I know it isn't like this all the time, but we've both noticed this precious time we are spending together and are both determined to hold onto it for as long as we can.

My life is so full of children again. My sweet Treyton and Derron. My best friend Mandy's little boy Brody, and daughter Ella. Everything around me so serene.

Tony and I were talking about how badly we'd wanted more children. How hard we'd tried to have them, and in the end learning that God had other things in store for us. I couldn't be happier. At 41 and chasing all these young ones around I KNOW that I do not want to be a mother full time. But that being a Mimi is the sweetest of all worlds.

Tony and I have time to be alone, date, party, have fun together, praise God together, to live. And yet, our lives are still full of littles everywhere. It's not so exhausting.

I cannot wait until October this year and I get to meet my new little grandbaby. Oh to smell that babies breath. My favorite of all things.

April. One of the sweetest months. It's flew right by. And May is just around the corner.

May. Another warm month. Another month of free time for this Mimi.

Bliss.

One of my favorite things is having flowers in my hair. This poem brings such a smile to my lips.

MAY CROWN
All early in the morning
I rose to greet the day,
And underneath my window
I saw a Child at play.
The robins were not fearful
Of one so mild and meek;
They lighted on His shoulder
And nested at His cheek.
He picked the clustering roses,
The lily in its sheath,
The long-stemmed purple violets,
And wove them in a wreath.
And then I saw a Lady
Come walking in the dew;
Her robe was white as starshine,
Her mantle was deep blue.
And as the Child approached her,
All sweetly she knelt down
And bent her head, receiving
His fragrant, flowery crown.

I am going to be a MiMi again!

My Easter Boy

Isn't he the most handsome little man you've ever seen? His outfit rocks. He reminds me of the way men use to dress back in the 50's and 60's. He turned every single head of every person that saw him that day.

Funny though, that we were going to have his Easter pictures made with the sweetest duckies, bunnies, and a beautiful lamb. Once we got there Treyton would have nothing to do with the animals so we opted for the colorful jellybean scene! It turned out perfect just the same.

I hope to have pictures to post of the Easter Egg Party that his mom is throwing him this year.

Happy Easter! 2013

Hump Day!

Praise God for short hump days! Tomorrow will be a long day of classes for me then I'll be off for a three day weekend. Ahhh

I'm taking Friday off with dear hubby and some friends. I so need a day of total rest and relaxation.

Then the weekend will be spent studying.

I've been getting to spend a lot of time with my little ham of a grandson. I was in One Day Surgery yesterday and had to come home and do a report on my day, having it turned in by 8 am this morning. Treyton spent the night. That little booger was bound and determined that I was not going to type my report up. He was one little stinker.

So, Meadow came to my rescue and started playing dress up with Treyton and my oh my, you have just got to see what she came up with for him. He had so much fun. He was laughing and posing. He absolutely loves having his picture made and playing with his auntie Meadow. Here are a couple of their pictures.

 I just love these!
I did finally get my paper done and managed to get in bed by midnight. Getting up is easy, it's making it home without falling asleep that is the hard part. :)

Dinosaur Museum

Heaven and I took Treyton to the new dinosaur exhibit at the museum today. We had such a good time. We first went to the our local coffee shop for story time and then left from there for the museum. I'm going to share the pictures below.

These last few pictures are where he was playing outside after we left the museum. I think he had more fun afterwards! He's a typical boy. He loves to run and play. :)
