Blustery Windsday!

Every time the wind blows like it is tonight it reminds of Winnie the Pooh. This captured me today.

Hum dum dum ditty dum Hum dum dee
Oh the wind is lashing lustily And the trees are thrashing thrustily And the leaves are rustling gustily So it's rather safe to say
That it seems that it may turn out to be It feels that it will undoubtedly It looks like a rather blustery day, today It sounds that it may turn out to be Feels that it will undoubtedly Looks like a rather blustery day
Oh I know today is Windsday And this is how I know It is always on a Windsday That the winds begin to blow
(Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)
Oh the wind is lashing lustily And the trees are thrashing thrustily And the leaves are rustling gustily So it is rather safe to say
That it seems that it may turn out to be It feels that it will undoubtedly It looks like a rather blustery day, today It sounds that it may turn out to be Feels that it will undoubtedly Looks like a rather blustery day

Just a Closer Walk with Thee

I work on top of the mountain. In the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's beautiful. The drive is so peaceful. I look forward to my time at this quaint little store. The spirit there is so sweet. I'll post some pictures soon. We make goodies weekly like all kinds of different fudges and homemade fried pies. We have fresh produce and neat gifts. My family is really eating good and I must say healthier since my employment at this special place. Each month or so we listen to a different cd. My first month there we heard Johnny Cash. Other employees, especially the youngins, tire of hearing the older music. I never do. It's therapy for my soul. I believe I've mentioned this before. We made a change, and now it is Patsy Cline's voice that fills the store. How I love her voice and her songs. It's very nostalgic. For me though it brings back my grandmother, Nannie as I called her, Louise West. How I miss her. Her coy jokes and sweet voice. How she loved to sing.

Today, this is the song the Lord has laid upon my heart. It means a lot to me for many different reasons. It was also the song we sang on my, "Walk to Emmaus." I never hear it and not remember that time in my life. I was so bound. I was saved but did not know deliverance. Since then I've been set free from so many of my past bondages. This song represents so much in my life and my own struggles. My favorite version is sung by no other than Patsy Cline herself. I hope you enjoy. The words ring true for me every time I  hear this.

I am weak, but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I’ll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.

Refrain:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Through this world of toil and snares,
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.

When my feeble life is o’er,
Time for me will be no more;
Guide me gently, safely o’er
To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.

It's August

The summer has flown by. Time just flies. I wish I could slow time down. I try to simplify our life and savor the moments and yet still the moments are gone before I can register that another day has passed.

Meadow is changing schools this year. She is a cheerleader. She has lots of great new things going for her this year, so please, keep her in your prayers.

I change my blog design frequently and freely thanks to Lee Lou's freebies. This time when I changed my template I also changed my scripture. I needed a new focus and God was speaking this to my heart. Lately, my emotions and anger have been so powerful and ruling. I've allowed my heart to lead me. Thinking and acting on your feelings isn't always the best thing. I know that I have stood for the right thing and that my every word has rang true, and now the Lord is saying to me, "Let go my child and Let Me."

So I'm digging into His word and praying over this situation that has been so hard for me to witness. I am going to allow Him to protect me. He has a shield of protection around me. He is my mighty warrior and He is fighting this battle for me.

My new scripture is Exodus 14:14 "The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." KJV

So now, I hold my peace. Thank-You Father.

And on a lighter note I wanted to say, "Happy August!" Today is the first!

Forgive Me

God never called us to attack others because of what they may or may not be doing right. It’s not our job to bring hatred to the world but rather to show people the love of Jesus. God is the judge, He will handle His business when it comes to humanity. We will all stand before Him one day. He doesn’t put a cap on His rule to “love others as yourself.” Whether you think what they are doing is the worst sin or not, you have no right to hate.
 ~Jesse Duplantis

I know that I should not voice all the ugly in my heart sometimes. So forgive me for my "People" post. "Father God please put that so innocent, so powerful, so sweet, pure love back into my heart. I know it comes only from You and I miss it. Lately things make me so angry. Remind me to bring them to You, so that You can fill me up with Your love and power that I may be able to in turn love those you place in path and DO something about the things that  You show me. In Jesus Name I Pray.  Jen"

A New Day

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. - Lamentations 3:22-24

I love the fact that Scripture tells us God's mercies are new every morning. He gives us every day as an opportunity to experience the deep joy of His ever-present mercies, mercies that can reach us no matter how bleak our circumstances.

HE IS RISEN!

Matthew 28:1-20

New King James Version (NKJV)

He Is Risen

28 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. 5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” 8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.

The Women Worship the Risen Lord

9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

The Soldiers Are Bribed

11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened. 12 When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, 13 saying, “Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’ 14 And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and make you secure.” 15 So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

The Great Commission

16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Put Your Praise On

Church this morning was absolutely fabulous. Pastor talked about the lives we have lived, our pasts, and how we allow our past to affect our futures. He told how often times we had thought that we had overcome but in reality all that tumbles from our mouths is what has happened to us or what we'd done. He taught us that we need to speak praises to our King in the midst of battles and once the battle was over to continue to praise our Father. Praise cuts off ties to our pasts that try to snare us again into bondage.

Pastor spoke about Jesus dying on the cross and how satan thought he had victory. If satan had known that he was sealing his own fate by crucifying our precious Savior he would have fought to have kept Him alive. The one thing that Pastor said that struck me the deepest was this, "Satan did not take the life of our Savior Jesus Christ, our precious Savior chose to lay down His life for us."

Yes, I knew this, but hearing it so plainly this morning it hit home hard. A true realization. My Savior gave His life for me, it wasn't taken. And I in turn wish to lay down my own life for Him. My life isn't taken from me, I give it.

I'm so thankful to serve such a loving, merciful and forgiving God. A God that gives us a new start, throwing all of our ugly sin away, never to be remembered again upon our repentance. Our scripture this morning was Psalm 57 and our song was one of my all time favorites, How can I Keep From Singing by Chris Tomlin. I hope it blesses you as it blessed and strengthened me. How I long for the day that I will sing with the angels and the saints around the throne!
Psalms 57
1 Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me!
         For my soul trusts in You;
         And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge,
         Until these calamities have passed by.

 2 I will cry out to God Most High,
         To God who performs all things for me.
 3 He shall send from heaven and save me;
         He reproaches the one who would swallow me up.  Selah
         God shall send forth His mercy and His truth.

 4 My soul is among lions;
         I lie among the sons of men
         Who are set on fire,
         Whose teeth are spears and arrows,
         And their tongue a sharp sword.
 5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
         Let Your glory be above all the earth.

 6 They have prepared a net for my steps;
         My soul is bowed down;
         They have dug a pit before me;
         Into the midst of it they themselves have fallen.  Selah

 7 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast;
         I will sing and give praise.
 8 Awake, my glory!
         Awake, lute and harp!
         I will awaken the dawn.

 9 I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples;
         I will sing to You among the nations.
 10 For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens,
         And Your truth unto the clouds.

 11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
         Let Your glory be above all the earth.

Manic Mondays

Meadow has had a horrid toothache. I called her dentist first thing this morning and thankfully they had an opening for her at 3pm today. We managed to finished school before having to go. Heaven came over and rode with us because they are having hard wood floors put in her home and its so messy and loud that she didn't want to sit over there listening to them work.

I don't know what is going on with Meadow's teeth and neither does our dentist! She just had xrays of her teeth in March and she didn't have this cavity. So in seven months she'd gotten this deep cavity in the center of two teeth. They worked on her for 2 hours and had to reschedule her for another visit.I had no idea we'd be in the office that long.

I had an appointment somewhere special to do something for Tony's Christmas present and was afraid I wouldn't get there on time. Thankfully we did and that was a sheer joy! I'm so excited about this! Then we went and looked at mattress and box springs for Heaven and Matt. I believe we had found a better deal the last time we went shopping. so she held off to go back there.

We are redoing our den (which was previously Heaven's bedroom) so I had to make a trip to Lowe's Home Improvement to pick up paints and blinds.

We finally got home by 8pm tonight! It was a long day but very productive.

We also had a wonderful Sunday yesterday, both the morning and evening services were fabulous. Our morning scripture was:

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am your God! I will strengthen thee, yea I will help thee, yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness.

What a beautiful scripture! It was very comforting and well needed. I'm so thankful to have a home church with a pastor that truly hears from and obeys the Lord. I praise God that He is there for me and that He hears and will answer me!

Looking forward to a great week ahead. We have a lot on our plates. I may try to post before and after pictures of our den. What do you think?
